Mike Stroh is a Colombian architect who graduated in 2001 from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, Massachusetts, before moving to Florida.

Prior to establishing Trio Architecture, Mike worked for renowned architects for several years and oversaw projects varying from tenant improvement, commercial interior design, residential interior design, and residential developments, among others.

In 2011, Mike and his family moved to the Cayman Islands, where he established what today is recognized as the most important and influential architectural studio on the island.

With over 18 years of experience, Mike’s spatial vision and tasteful designing skills, combined with a real understanding of efficiency, result in his ability to balance aesthetics and functionality in harmony. Mike strongly believes that the greatest service is achieved when we can accurately interpret our clients’ needs and turn their dreams into reality.

After graduating high school in Barranquilla, Colombia, Carolina Hane moved to Florida, where she studied Interior Design.

In 2017, after working several years in various projects ranging from commercial to residential, Carolina and her family relocated to Grand Cayman, where she joined Trio Architecture as their lead Interior Designer.

With over 10 years’ experience, Carolina’s love of every aspect of the design field — including graphics, art, and fashion — has given her a superior and wide-ranging sense of style.

Carolina’s approach begins with a comprehensive understanding of the client’s needs, expectations, and desires. Having worked in commercial and residential projects with a variety of budgets, requirements and styles, she is able to guide clients through every step of the way. She is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing her to communicate with clients, vendors and suppliers from many parts of the world.

When she is not busy designing, Carolina enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. She has a passion for music and art which fuel her imagination and creativity.

David is a Professional Engineer, licensed in the states of Ohio and Florida, and Special Inspector in the state of Florida. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering in 1987, and a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering in 1989, both from The University of Cincinnati, in Cincinnati, OH.

David leads Trio Architecture’s Structural Engineer division. Prior to joining Trio, David worked as Design Engineer and Project Manager for 20 years. David was the Structural Engineer of Record for several landmark buildings in South Florida ranging from 15 to 50 million in construction costs.

David’s level of experience has encompassed many commercial and residential projects, and all types of construction materials and methods. One of David’s greatest attributes is creating a pleasant experience for the client during the design and construction phases of a project. David strongly believes that good client relations are the key to success.

Raised in Venezuela, Evelyn moved to Florida after graduating from High School. She earned her Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Miami, in 2010, and soon after joined Trio Architecture.

As a Project Manager, Evelyn has been instrumental in the development and coordination of a number of residential and commercial projects for the firm, providing a fresh and innovative perspective on design.

Evelyn’s experience also includes urban planning, drafting and 3D modeling. She has participated in design competitions and is fluent in Spanish and English.

Born in Kingston, Jamaica, and raised in Grand Cayman, Aston has over 10 years’ experience in the architecture field. He employs an intuitive holistic approach to architectural design. As he states eloquently: “Architecture should be simultaneously an artistic and functional expression, inclusive of the natural environment and evocative of the inhabitant’s lifestyle.”

John is a talented and versatile architect with over a decade of experience in the architectural field. In 2023, John joined Trio Architects, driven by his passion for design and commitment to delivering exceptional architectural solutions.

After completing his architectural degree in Medellín, Colombia, John embarked on a successful career working on diverse projects across multiple countries. His expertise spans residential, commercial, education, and healthcare architecture, allowing him to bring a well-rounded perspective to every project he undertakes.

John’s comprehensive understanding of clients’ needs and desires enables him to translate their visions into innovative design solutions. With a keen eye for detail and a dedication to incorporating sustainable practices, he ensures that each project achieves a perfect balance of aesthetics and functionality.

As a registered architect with the National Professional Council of Architecture and its Auxiliary Professions of Colombia (CPNAA) and a chartered architect with RIBA, John maintains the highest standards of professionalism and stays updated on industry best practices.

Collaboration is at the heart of John’s approach to architecture. Fluent in English and Spanish, he effectively communicates with clients, consultants, and government agents from diverse cultural backgrounds. This skill allows him to create meaningful connections and ensure successful project outcomes.

Robert is a highly accomplished and versatile architect, known for his exceptional design skills and strong educational background from Nelson Mandela University. Holding a National Diploma in Architectural Technology, a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Design Architectural Technology, and a Masters in Architecture, Robert has acquired a solid foundation in architectural knowledge and expertise as a fully qualified architect.

Throughout his career, Robert gained valuable experience at a prominent firm, specializing in diverse projects in the Western Cape of South Africa. Successfully completing housing developments, apartments, and frail care facilities, he showcased his ability to handle various project types while cultivating strong client relationships.

In 2022, Robert joined an award-winning firm where he further refined his attention to detail and honed his design sensibilities. His discerning eye for intricate design elements played a pivotal role in creating awe-inspiring spaces. Now, as a valuable member of Trio Architecture, Robert brings his expertise and unwavering dedication, ensuring the company’s values and design philosophies are upheld.

Robert is driven by a deep passion for pushing the boundaries of architectural design and delivering exceptional results. With his versatile skill set and meticulous approach, he continuously strives to create spaces that inspire and captivate, leaving a lasting impact on the built environment.

Thais received her bachelor’s degree in architecture in Brazil, with certification in the UK and USA. Focused on sustainable design and urban planning.

Through the years, she has developed a wide range of sectors including housing, commercial and large-scale mixed-use developments.

In 2019, she relocated with her family to Cayman.

Megan holds a bachelor’s degree in interior design from Nelson Mandela University in South Africa. With a diverse range of experience, she served as the co-owner of an interior design firm in South Africa, where she worked on a wide array of projects spanning hospitality, restaurants, offices, residential spaces, and graphic design. This extensive exposure has shaped her into a highly adaptable designer.

In the early months of 2023, Megan embarked on a new chapter by relocating to Grand Cayman, where she joined Trio Architecture. Embracing versatility as a key value, she takes great pleasure in exploring different styles that align with the client’s vision or brand identity. Megan’s passion for graphics and branding significantly influences her design approach, seamlessly integrating the interior design with the overall brand aesthetic. This unique blend infuses a sense of joy and individuality into every space that is created.

Fernanda is an Interior Designer with over 10 years of experience, originally from Mexico City and fluent in both Spanish and English. While her primary focus has been on commercial design, she brings the same passion and commitment to a diverse range of projects, including residential and mixed-use spaces. Her approach to design is both purposeful and inspiring — blending creativity with functionality to craft environments that truly resonate. With a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of how people interact with space, she is dedicated to delivering thoughtful, innovative solutions that reflect each client’s unique vision.

Nicole is a Canadian-born designer with education in both architectural and interior design technology. Her career began with large-scale commercial projects, including government and private offices, educational facilities and public spaces, where she gained valuable experience in creating impactful environments that optimize productivity, foster collaboration, and promote overall well-being.

After relocating to the Cayman Islands in 2021, Nicole shifted her focus to luxury residential design, driven by a desire to create custom homes that are unique to each client. Inspired by her passion for health and wellness, she approaches each project with a deep understanding of how design can influence everyday life, always striving to create spaces that balance functionality and comfort.

When not immersed in design work, you can find Nicole playing a competitive sport, drinking iced coffee on the beach or travelling the world in search of fresh inspiration for her next project.

As Trio Architecture’s Office Manager, Lorena coordinates all the administrative tasks of the company. She was born in Cali, Colombia, and then moved to Bogotá to obtain her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Hotel Administration. Lorena has lived in the USA since 1998, and joined Trio in 2012.

The journey of this Certified Public Accountant (CPA) from working in a global food chain in the Philippines to transitioning to an architecture and design firm in Grand Cayman and finally finding her place at Trio is challenging and exciting.

Transitioning across different industries and locations fosters a rich and dynamic work environment where she can learn from people with different backgrounds and perspectives, enriching her own professional journey.

In her role at Trio, providing general administrative and accounting support, she finds fulfillment in the variety of tasks she undertakes and the opportunity to contribute her expertise to the success of the organization.
